Through a Techniques of Historic Preservation class, I was prompted to lead a group of eight students to measure, photograph, research, analyze, and document a local historic building.  Sky Farm was historically significant as a home for two prominent Taft family members, Robert and Bob, son and grandson of William Howard Taft, and Ohio republican party politicians.  This colonial, Italianate building came equipped with a lavish mid-century modern addition by UC professor, David Lee Smith, who joined us in our efforts to document the site.  As part of this project we prepared an extensive Historic Structures Report, and I'm lucky to have maintained a relationship with the property owner today.
