At KVA I was engaged with a design process closely tied with manufacturing and process.  The firm was structured like a studio, where responsibilities were spread around and everyone was expected to bring a lot to the table in terms of design ideation and production.  I worked on project throughout many stages and in many fields, but perhaps the most rewarding experience was through the opportunity to work schematically in their in-house prototyping lab (CNC machine, laser cutter, wood shop, 3D printer) in order to create prototypes and models that would encapsulate specific design ideas, soften times my own ideas.
